Tour Information

What you’ll See on the Tour... The "Trail of Flames" history/education tour is experienced aboard a comfortable, new air-conditioned tour bus (courtesy of New Bern Tours & Conventions). The guided tour begins, and concludes at the New Bern Firemen’s Museum , 408 Hancock Street. This tour chronicles the path of "New Bern's Great Fire of 1922". Visitors get to see, and learn about many of the more historically relevant places that were destroyed, displaced, or in some way impacted by the fire. (Note: There is plenty of parking, restrooms and handicap access at the Firemen’s Museum.)

The bus route visits twenty historic places. Details of each property are given by the guide. The bus makes stops along the way, and there are opportunities to walk through some of the sites, if you prefer.
